Liked this a lot, I’ll watch those whales do anything. Was surprised how emotional I got at the mom saying “I See You” to Spider. Didn’t really understand the military guy’s motivation in the beginning? Like why help the Sully’s get away from the bad Navi, then seemingly just let them go, then immediately go back to the military and be like “Oh we have to go capture them again”
It's like tom and Jerry, the coyote and roadrunner, sideshow bob and bart Without his foil he's nothing
friend of mine who saw it a second time today/yesterday told me it improved for him on rewatch, keeping that in mind
Ronal's death immediately after naming her newborn definitely got me a little, but I'm still a relatively new father
was disappointed at first. a lot of reused sequences and dialogue from way of water, some bad/boring scenes. my fault for seeing way of water as many times as I had, it's gonna feel like more of the same no matter what. I mistakenly thought this movie was gonna do for volcanoes what WoW did for oceans. shoulda known JC doesn't give a shit about volcanoes. it was also my fault for seeing it on a regular screen so I could get a row for my friends in the theater saw it immediately again in 3D imax by myself with no expectations other than "hope it looks cool." it did! also, the movie grew on me. I think it's alright. good stuff in there, especially the last setpiece (even though it's a rehash of the final fight in WoW again) I honestly thought a lot of people would dislike this or think it was boring but (shock) seems like word of mouth is good again. people I went with dug it. think the new sexy evil Navi is a hit. never doubt Cameron. how does he do it I thought the ending was bad both times I saw it. ended the exact same way as WoW except more Spider and everyone now instead of just Neteyam. gonna see it again I guess but the bigass planet-sized Eywa face? rad shit. hot shit. especially in imax. more of that and less soft focus sigourney weaver and jack champion standing around in a circle with a ton of normal-sized cartoon dead guys
also remember avatar 4 is called "the tulkun rider." we staying in the ocean unless they give payakan rocket engines
I think all 3 of these movies are just OK. I’m beyond sick of the villain, let’s hope he stays dead. The new villain was promising and then just got sidelined in the 2nd half. also , there is legit something wrong with my eyes where my 3D mileage varies. When I saw the-release of Friday the 13th part 2 back in October, stuff was popping out of the screen like crazy. For this, not once. and yea, for a movie called fire and ash, it’s weird the final battle is a repeat of the 2nd one and takes place in the water lol love the whales tho
nah. it'll probably change 5 was called "the quest for eywa" and Cameron said they'd be going to Earth
