Basically, Cameron is so good that he can make the same movie twice and it's still one of the best theatrical experiences you'll ever have
Yeah just an absolute blast at the cinema. Not as good as the way of water but 2 of the actions sequences might outdo anything in way of water. Looks absolutely insane. Also Jake Sully is a Steelers fan. It’s canon.
First off, agreed on how much fun it was - the action was awesome, and the scale of the battles towards the end were just incredible - like I've never seen that much detail on screen at once. It's been the same for all of them, but nothing has come close in my opinion to the level of sensory overload and immersive action they deliver, and they just keep on getting better. The story... I was meh on this one and felt it was repetitive and a bit 'cheap' on the emotional punches it tried to deliver, while also short changing other emotional moments. I have no idea where we could go for 4 except that nobody died on screen again and they could invent ways for any of the main 'bad guy' cast to come back
It's wild that so much of the conflict beats in the third act retread The Way of Water, but the stakes feel so much darker and more sinister to me here. Varang was an excellent addition, and Quaritch's moment with her in the tent where he persuads her to team up is one of Lang's strongest performances in the series
Obviously gorgeous to look at, but much too long without adding anything new to the franchise. I don see a need for a fourth or fifth version of this.
The visuals and action are as amazing as ever but it’s almost impressive how the story is just the same as the last one, the end is almost identical to way of water. Feel like they could have done way more for the Ash Tribe. Why did they essentially abandon them for the last third of the movie?
If Spider has a million fans, then I am one of them If Spider has ten fans, then I am one of them If Spider has only one fan then that is me If Spider has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth If the world is against Spider, then I am against the world
I'm so glad we got more Payakan lore in this. I literally never get tired of watching tulkun just wreck the shit out of ships, or Neytiri nailing pilots to their seats with an arrow through the cockpit. It's sick every single time
The amount of retreading was definitely weird, with one scene in particular feeling like déjà vu, but that’s a minor thing to me when so much of this hits. Who doesn’t love seeing a dragon-like creature throw an airship at another airship or characters shooting guns while holding onto fins of tulkuns. The focus on Spider didn’t bother me either. I wish they’d cut his dialogue by half but I’m sure kids love it, I would have.
Very excited to see this tonight. All the Avatar heads on my LB feed are really into it so that's a good sign
I love how he just makes up lore, the evil navi are ugly and bald and Kiri and Spider are low key incest but it's okay
