yeah, Way of Water is one of the only films I can think of where the screen didn't appear horribly dark and the 3D elements were immersive and not headache-inducing, which is impressive for a three-hour runtime
converted to 3D after being filmed, not as good as the avatar movies. I generally do not like 3D but these movies actually benefit from it.
I saw the film a couple of weeks ago at a press screening and my review just went live over at my Substack!
Damn, the BBC trashed this and gave it 1 star and an absolutely brutal review. I don't care / will still see it at least twice, and the complaints about plot / pacing / dialogue etc have not stuck for any of the previous ones. I've seen The Way of Water 3 times at the movies now, and every time it's not felt at all close to it's length. Tickets for Thursday with my wife, and then again on Monday with my Dad. Looking forward to both. I can't imagine I won't enjoy it. The Monday one is Imax as well.
I loved when all the bad reviews were wrong c'mon do I really have to wait until thursday to confirm that i hate the bbc
I still haven’t watched these, but I gotta say it’s quite impressive to see James still going beyond expectations with this series. Two consecutive bangers is one thing, three consecutive bangers is another. I’ll check out the 4k combo in the spring
