I've been jamming Violent Soho, The Smith Street Band, and The Decline a ton this year. Am I missing any other similar bands? I will also forever love Frenzal Rhomb.

Try out Luca Brasi. They supported Violent Soho on their recent tour and are getting a lot of hype here at the moment.

 

Not so hardcore/metal, but very Australian

 

I've been listening to Ambleside, a really solid melodic hardcore band from Adelaide. Every one should give this is a go if they are in to that sort of music.
