from the writer of 300 and the director of John Wick, based on the graphic novel The Coldest City starring Charlize Theron, James McAvoy, John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones
Not sure the action measures up to John Wick, but it looks fun. I'm always down to watch Charlize Theron kick ass.
I've heard nothing but good things about this. Flipped through the source material and didn't really think it was for me. Given the comparisons, I'll check it out eventually.
This was incredible. A good description of this that I've seen is John Wick meets a Cold War-era spy film. And there's a lot of 80ish neon that worked very well, too. On top of that, some stellar music choices and impeccably violent action. Not to mention Charlize is as killer as advertised Between Logan, this, and the upcoming Kingsman sequel, we're looking at a banner year for R-rated comic book movies
Also, this movie made me that much more excited for Deadpool 2 with Leitch as director. So there's that too
Managed to catch this again. While I still loved it, I think there'll be some people who will find it to be a bit style over substance in some spots. Doesn't really change everything else I've said about it though
Gonna have to find time to see this next week. I'm betting this opens at #2 in the Box Office, with Dunkirk staying number one and hopefully no one on earth going to see the emoji movie.
I loved the action sequences, but everything around it is way too complicated and the characters are mostly boring. There's something to be said for movies like "John Wick" that keep it simple.
John Wick has an emotional edge that wins for me, but this is probably my favorite spy movie since... Casino Royale? It at least blows every other Bond movie since out of the water.
