Little bummed but ultimately not surprised. Donald seems like he's had a rough few months with his dad dying and his injury, plus he's still got an album to drop and presumably promote
All I care about is that we are getting more eventually. The fact that they're currently writing it is enough for me and honestly more than I was expecting at this point. I'm fine with waiting until 2020 for it. I just don't want this brilliant series to end any time soon.
I don't know when it was added, but the most recent season is on Hulu now in the US. I haven't seen it yet and can't wait!
I watched the second season over the last few days and loved all of it. This is such an interesting show. The only negative I can think of is that I really hate how intense the film grain look is. It's way too distracting for me.
He was on Kimmel tonight and when Jimmy asked him if he's working on Atlanta, Donald said he was contractually obligated to say he is but it sure didn't seem like it lol... I wouldn't expect any more of this show anytime soon
my guess is he won’t think about it until the Gambino tour / album release / victory lap is done, and after that it will still be a while to line up all 4 stars and their schedules again. Late 2021 at the very earliest.
Interesting to note that on Kimmel it sure doesn't sound like an album is coming out. He didn't say it directly but Kimmel asked if he was done with Childish Gambino and then Kimmel said 'well obviously you're not done because you're playing some shows next week' and Glover's response, after a pause, was just 'I enjoy working on music' but I feel like if an album was on the horizon (as previously reported) he would say something like, 'oh no, the album is going to be coming out' or something mentioned an album at all.
I just jumped into this show after getting Hulu last week. It's been my obsession since watching the first episode. What an age of television we live in.
Who here is capable of talking me out of the state of shock & awe I'm in after finishing the episode Teddy Perkins??
I was about to say that I figured it already was renewed, but then I realized this is for the season AFTER the next one. Crazy
I'm totally fine with short seasons. It just means that he can focus on a concise story and not have to fill time. Network shows with 20+ episodes a season wind up having a bunch of unnecessary episodes or bottle episodes. Although Atlanta does bottle episodes better than any show ever, so...
showing them back to back is interesting/good. means there wont be a massive break in between them and it can actually air on a normaler schedule. I love this for them.
I imagine they’re shooting them back to back because the entire cast plus Hiro is insanely busy, they all blew up crazy fast after the first season More of this show is always great, even though the next season is still like a year away (let’s get that new Gambino album in the meantime)
That'll be nice after a long break to get two seasons in quick succession. I'm so ready for this to come back.
