The first Antemasque album proves that Cedric and Omar can still put together a fucking great rock album. Add in the rest of ATDI and I have no doubt a new album from them would be bitchin
First album is excellent, second one isn't out yet but Travis Barker drums on it, and I saw like 8 of the songs live and they are excellent. Bummed it isn't out yet
It would be a HUGE bummer if the did, and honstly I don't think they did because it's all done. I'm pretty sure it's as simple as them getting ready to plan the release, then the ATDI stuff started up and Antemasque is essentially paused. I'm sure after this ATDI cycle we'll get it
Having never seen this band (specifically any Cedric/Omar live show) I'm incredibly excited, even if it is a shell of their original incarnation. Would also love to see something else from Bosnian Rainbows.
BvS is great. Make sure to check out Bars of Gold as well, that's Mark Paffi's new band. They have two albums out and both are real good.
Any ATDI fans that couldn't get into TMV, I would suggest revisiting them starting with the last album and working backwards. Last few albums are much more "songs" than them going off on long journeys. I pretty much couldn't hang with TMV anymore once Frances The Mute came out, and was incredibly turned off for years (read: thought i hated them) but Octahedron brought me back on board. I then went back and everything I didn't pay attention to clicked and now I love them again. And yeah, the Antemasque album is great, and it kinda bums me out that they didn't just make it TMV. Different enough that it probably would have pissed off a lot of fans, but a realistic next step from the last few albums, not to mention EVERY person involved was in TMV at some point, so it would have been cool to see them pull a left turn like that. Also, the Bosnian Rainbows album is very good and worth checking out.
Did we ever get a reason for Jim not being on the tour? I recall speculation that it's not a 'we hate each other' thing.
