I'm happy that this is a "band" thing happening - but also absolutely love the angle Consequence of Sound went with on it.

 

I think that's incredibly stupid, and honestly unfair to Tony and now Keeley. It's like calling Antemasque "The Mars Volta" also

meh, I found it STUPID.

But really, it's like calling any side project a show from the main project, or a band the same as a solo show, it's a tired joke that comes off as lazy writing to me.

 

ANYWAY. I'd like to see this tour, I missed my date because it sold out so fast, but those videos look so fun

 

I had tickets to it - but then sold them back.. because Motion City is doing their last date here (NYC) on the very same day.

 

Aaaah that's a tough one for sure, damn

 

Tbh Keeley Davis is incredibly talented and you should listen to engine down - he is he lead singer

The production on the last ED record is horrid but yeah it has some of their best songs

 

Reminds me of when Pitchfork reviewed Deloused and basically called it shitty At The Drive-In. Funny how things change.

 

I love this band, and nearly everything Cedric and Omar have made together, but De-Loused is still my favorite release of theirs

 

I'm a Frances guy personally but I get it, it's all excellent material and De-Loused is phenomenal.

 

Frances is high up there too, no question. I really love TMV, was one of the few diehards on AP as you probably had seen

 

But really listen to engine down they smashed the shit out of the upgrade button getting keeley

 

I think De-Loused is their best, as well. I don't think ATDI or TMV have released a bad album.

 

listening to my RSD14(?) pressing of Relationship of Command and it sounds so freakin good

 

RoC and I/C/O are flawless post-hardcore albums.

god, i have such high hopes for a new record from them. even if Jim isn't gonna be part of it

 

My expectations for a new album are not high at all. There's just no way we get another RoC or ICO.

On a related note I've been getting into Bear v Shark, and they are totally filling my ATDI void. Some great tunes.

 

I forgot they promised a record this year. I won't believe it until I hear it.

 

Anxious to hear new material but I'm more holding out hope for a Mars Volta reunion.
