This comparison is probably a long shot but do the riffs in Hostage Stamps remind any of y'all of something you might hear on Questions and Answers by The Sleeping?
Yes, it's crazy because I thought the same thing. Like some early The Sleeping, the latter was prob influenced by ATDI.
why is it confusing that people you don't know make a decision that you know nothing about? None of us have any idea what any members of the band are thinking or thought about "coming back" to ATDI
If by drama you mean Omar's mom dying before their first shows...sure. Every show lately they've looked and sounded great. Doesn't seem like they're annoyed at all.
It's not a personal query dude. I don't care about or try to feel out their personal situation As a music listener, familiar with the genre, familiar with the members' output and achievements, I find making the music they are making right now to be artistically confusing (at the very best) when I listen to it.
Antemasque was the closest thing to ATDI that Omar and Cedric had done in years, it's not surprising that it led back to ATDI if you are talking musically
It's especially weird when you see TMV interviews where they talk about "desperately wanting to get out of exclusive genre work and into more inclusive musical forums" or when you weigh alot of their pretty damn avant garde post-atdi endeavors against this now. Antemasque was/is confusing too for the same reasons but it was lower profile
Those interviews were SO long ago. People change, mindsets change, everything changes. I don't think it's really fair to hold them to comments they made that long ago
