the hardest part about getting into a new artist is that I don't really get it until I've spent several hours listening to them. Like if you tell me to listen to a band and I just listen to an album once I'll be like yeah that was cool and nothing will stick.

Oh yeah same here. I'm going through a song or two by each artist to see if they're even worth exploring haha. then i'm gonna go back through more in depth

 

I've found that to be the case a lot. I only get into a lot of stuff because I use the radio a lot in the car. I was not about Deafheaven for a while but this station kept playing them and it finally clicked.

 

I guess I kinda get that with Spotify daily mix playlists but that requires me to listen to the band in the first place for them to come up

 

I think Fickle Friends was the first time in a while I heard a song and was immediately obsessed with every song on their album.
