american pleasure club used to be teen suicide right? what do you suggest from either band? I have a TS cassette lying around somewhere that I never checked out

 

Yeah! Three points of entry:

Early: Start with Waste Yrself, a mini LP/long EP type thing and probably the strongest stuff from their first run as Teen Suicide. from there I'd check out their first LP, i will be my own hell[...], and you get a good idea of their early stuff, though it's totally all worth checking out. you can move forward from here. great pop songwriting, the lofi as aesthetic thing works really well with their punkier and noise pop type stuff too. it's kind of wild how strong this stuff is for how young they were. my recommended entry point

Mid: Start with their last record as Teen Suicide, It's The Big Joyous Celebration[...]. This is probably the hardest point of entry cause it's a double album so i only recommend it if you're willing to enjoy some sprawl. but you get a taste of pretty much every flavor of TS Sam had messed with up to that point and so from here you can go to pretty much any release.

APC: Just start with the first American Pleasure Club LP, A Whole Fucking Lifetime of This and go forward and if you want some more dig into the back catalog when you're ready for it.

band is an excellent grab bag so it really doesn't matter but i know starting at the beginning can be daunting when a band is like this and i thought this way you can start wherever or kinda grab the highlights
