Do you buy stuff you know is good or just a bunch of stuff you've never had? That's what I do

If they have Wakatake Onikoroshi I highly recommend it as you know

I'd ask for recs based on your food order though. Often places will let you try a quick sample too, get one and if it's good get a bottle of it.

I don't know much about what sake is commonly kept in stock at restaurants so I just wing it and explore something new if I'm out and about! But yeah junmai daiginjos are excellent.

A mix of both. When I'm in a store that sells a lot of beer I'll go on Untappd and read some reviews. And then some beers I hear from word of mouth. There's days I just say screw it and buy something I've never had and haven't heard of too

 

if I say something you haven't heard of it's either an obscure reference or i'm making shit up
