Played a couple of the handheld games and didn't love any of them, really.

So the movie had an early screening and twitter reactions seem pretty positive. Still going in with tempered expectations because........video game movies.

I've at the very least liked every Assassins Creed game

 

Samesies. I still need to finish Syndicate so I don't have much an opinion on that one, but 3 and Unity were still good games imo.

 

I loved every AC until 2012.

 

Black Flag is the best AC game

 

oh noooooo, the movie is getting slammed. Oh well, I'll still support it out of love for the series and hope that we'll get more VG movies.

Sadly not surprised.

 

Those early good reactions are from fans and the bad ones are from critics. I'm guessing it'll end up being like Warcraft where unless you know the lore it's boring. I really thought this would be the one to break the mold.

 

I guess VG movies will never work

 

Holding hope out for Uncharted and Last of Us, if those ever really go into production.

 

there's also the division. and possible warcraft sequels.

 

That really bums me out.. I was so excited for this.

 

Going to be dreadful as well haha. Imagine Mark Wahlberg as Drake.

 

Last I heard he dropped out, thankfully.

 

I could live with that being the case. I never expected the movie to good from a mainstream standpoint

 

I also have no idea why they released it in such a crowded market, I feel they were dooming it to flop by releasing it during the season of releasing every movie

 

Bought my ticket for 8pm tomorrow night.

I'm REALLY looking forward to it. From the blurbs I read, it seemed like people didn't buy the conspiracy portion, even though that's what the entire plot of the series is based on. Soooo fuck'em I think it'll be great.

 

I'm just hoping it looks nice and there are some cool action sequences.

 

The Last of Us/Uncharted are games that should adapt well into a film in theory.
