To be honest, this makes perfect sense after the Tooth & Nail podcast. It seemed to help Cody and Aaron find a platform to understand each other and potentially work together again.
Still frustrated with this band after seeing them on the UO final tour. Performance felt so heartless and it just made me so sad. Maybe they'll get the spark back for this, who knows, but the back and forth of it all has made me lose a ton of respect for a band I once considered within my all-time favorites.
I didn’t see them on that tour, but I did catch the SILYAYD tour and it was fantastic. Everyone seemed in high spirits.
No clue. News to me if so and if that's the case, I definitely feel for the guy. Whole set was just off. All of the tracks were played super slow and basically all of the urgency from SILYAYD was gone. Just disappointing, but if that's the case for Aaron I suppose it makes more sense.
Aaron’s Twitter presence is the worst. Watching him interact with Bazan and others this morning has been painful.
Bunch of people in a FB group I'm in began the discussion and seeing him interact made me want to puke. What a fuckhead.
Total speculation but... Just put on the latest episode of Break It Down and Matt (from Emery) mentioned in the intro that ACB was doing a tour with them and has “new material”. Haven’t seen anything from ACB, but perhaps they are in fact working on a new record.
Probably not honestly. My apologies. I went on and deleted my post cause it really didn't accomplish anything aside from just being negative about the band. And I'm definitely still a fan. That said, there's been a few things in the past, including the nature of their most recent break-up post (which I believe was deleted soon after), that soured my excitement for their future. Just a lot of unnecessary drama that could've been easily avoided.
Not sure what was posted above but this is my perspective of his Twitter & Facebook posts for the band and his personal Twitter account: Lunsford is clearly opinionated and very poor at expressing his online opinion in a productive way. He's clearly passionate about his opinions but he tends to communicate his point in an aggressive way. He doesn't usually come across as someone willing to listen to people who disagree with him (which is often seems to be a lot of people) and often seems dismissive or argumentative. It ends up getting in a complete mess and comes across as offensive. Rather than getting annoyed, I've just learnt to completely avoid his Twitter account. I'm sure he's a nice enough man in person (in fact, he's been ok when he's appeared on the BC Podcast) but his online activity doesn't help people's perspective of him or the As Cities Burn brand in general. As @Lucas27 said above, it's "a lot of unnecessary drama that could've been easily avoided". Yes, it's easy to judge people you don't know but when you have a semi-public platform I think it's beneficial to look yourself in the mirror from time to time and figure out what's going on. We all should do that, regardless of the platform, but I think recent events show it's particularly important to do so when you're a in a band and have people looking to you.
Crazy that Hell or High Water was released in 2009. It's been so long. The two songs from 2015 were not great though.
That's good to know. Having been a big fan of all three of their full lengths, the fact that I didn't rush to purchase either of these was telling. I think lyrically they were most lacking. I don't mind heavier music if done well but would probably prefer anything between Come Now Sleep and Hell or High Water going forward. We'll see what happens...
