Wow, I like this song. So much better than the two singles from a few years back. I prefer this sound / vibe a lot more. I think he sounds more like Micah from Oh, Sleeper. I hear what you're saying though. Either way, I like it a lot.
HOHW has such phenomenal guitar work. While I’m glad tj is back in the mix, I’m not a fan of their direction. I wish they kept going in the blues direction of HOHW and Hawkboy.
I like this a lot, similar vibes as '84 Sheepdog. The drums sound great when they come in on the hellos. I was skeptical we'd see a new album but the Equal Vision news is a great sign
cody sounds great. this is better than the other new songs they've been putting out, but every time i hear tj i can't help but be a little bummed that they are regressing into some really generic post hardcore when they are capable of so much more.
This is true but I’ll wait until I hear the rest of the album to pass judgement. As @cyclones_37 said above, it has a ‘84 Sheepdog vibe. I’m conflicted on this because I think I’m in the same boat - Cody is just brilliant but I’m also happy they’re making music again. Did you find this song generic? Just out of interest. I hardly listen to heavier music with screaming these days. I think the two singles from a few years ago were lifeless but felt this was better.
This was pretty good. Thought the vocals were actually used in an interesting way I wasn't expecting--kinda buried in the mix so the focus is on the instruments and atmosphere. Like people said, much better than the recent songs. Hope there's more coming soon.
lol this is so spot on. thrice too, and maybe not so relevant anymore, but we got a new underoath record this year as well.
I got to see Slow Coming Day do a couple reunion shows earlier this year and I thought that was gonna be the peak of my youth group nostalgia
I listened to the singles released in 2015 after this new one and Goldmine is actually not that bad but I'm still not a big fan of Prince of Planet Earth tho.
"old" Not until I get my dang dc Talk reunion (outside of a couple dang cruises that only the dang bourgeoisie can afford).
