Sidenote: I spoke with TJ multiple times at their Santa Cruz show and he was honestly the coolest dude. Aaron and Cody were cool too but it was pretty brief with them. TJ was just so appreciative of the support and super humble. Love that guy now.
Damn - it's already over lol. Was hoping they would close with Die Contrary even though I love Venture. TJ was barely in this session but it was nice to hear Made Too Pretty live.
Not sure if anyone wants to be surprised by the set but it was: Medley with Into The Sea/New Sun/Contact/Made Too Pretty Hallowed Out Maybe Venture Not bad but it seemed short. I personally would have rather them cut the medley down to just Into The Sea and Pretty to have them add Live Convinced, Broadway, and Die Contrary.
Only half the songs on the album they're promoting is weird but the set itself was perfect, everyone sounded great
Totally agree, I got a chance to talk with Cody and TJ at a show last week and they are both the nicest guys. It was surreal telling them how much their music has meant to me and getting them both to sign my copy of SILYAYD. I talked with Cody the most and could really tell how much he appreciated talking with fans at the show.
Bummed no Die Contrary. Curious if some of the song choices are due to the fact that they still only have one guitarist
It might be the case but when I saw Die Contrary live - it was still pretty great and it was just Cody still. Probably right though.
Woah these Come Now Sleep / Hell Or High Water reimagined versions are amazing. Would love to see run of shows playing either or both records.
This is brilliant. The old songs sound incredible and the new songs sound fantastic. Venture in particular was quality - TJ screaming "GET THE FUCK OUT" was everything I needed today, haha! Also, Cody's voice is so brilliant in Into The Sea. Wow.
I listen to this new record a lot. Biggest 180 I’ve had with an album in a long time. Stoked they are back.
The drumming on this record is really really good, there’s a fill in one of the choruses that just makes me loose my mind every time Bc of how it hooks up with the band
Did you see the random coffee shop they’re playing in Chattanooga on this tour? Or am I missing something with the venue?
One of my favorites of the year for sure. I mean, I liked it a lot at first, but I didn’t expect to love it so much at this point.
