The weak resolution to the cliffhanger, cringeworthy writing for William, and rehash of Oliver's identity going public really soured me on the premiere. I'm not sold on what they're doing with Diggle either. Black Siren was great though.
That's my thought as well. They made it seem like something fairly significant was gonna happen and having William's mother be the only casualty seems pretty insignificant
Yeah. I mean, it's insignificant team-wise, but it's a huge personal change for Oliver. I think the premiere makes me very interested in where they take things this season.
Samantha is such a weak one to have been the only one to die. Show left viewers on what could have been an epic fallout, but alas it was just between season hype.
I mean, do we really need this show to kill off anymore characters? That bad habit is literally the reason that seasons 3 and 4 sucked.
I don't think it needs to do anything. But to have such an astounding ending amount to nothing feels cheap.
Also they linger way toooo long after Black Siren's scream has stopped, and it's just Katie Cassidy wide mouthed looking foolish. Maybe it's just me.
I'd be totally fine if they killed off Curtis, and it's pretty clear that Willa Holland wants off the show so kill her too. They really should fix the damn Canary mess they created and either redeem Black Siren or stick with Dinah. This show is just bloated with characters.
I feel like we should do a follow up to our initial Arrow episode once this season is over haha. I think we have similar feelings on how things have been since we recorded that.
Solid premiere, although Arrow has never had a bad premiere and we've been burned before. Hoping they keep improving after how much better last season was.
Yes, there were a few reasons, but the downward spiral pretty much started when they killed Sara in the most convoluted way possible. It seemed like it was the only way they knew to move the story forward. Ugh, that season sucked so bad.
My one friend always argues that four is worse, and for a while I was like "you're crazy, man" but then I really thought about it and mostly since then I've kind of just been not so sure. I've gotten to the point where it's a difficult decision to make.
I tend to give 4 the clear edge, just because Neal McDonagh was so much fun. But yeah, from a plotting aspect, they were both...not so good. The nuke storyline in season 4 was so poorly handled.
Yeah see 4 ended so damn poorly that it really brings the whole thing down for me. Also they wasted Chad Coleman, dammit haha
Do you have like 4 hours available? Haha. I’d be down for that but I do still plan to cover the shows individually here and there since I have no clue how long they’ll all run. Supergirl S1-2 episode is happening in 2 weeks. That show still feels pretty separate from the others though. To me anyway.
Oliver deserved to get exposed again. Superheroes taking their masks off when outside is one of my biggest pet peeves in TV. Like if you're in your hideout fair enough but when out in the wild it's so dumb. Flash does it all the time too!
So, Diggle as the new Green Arrow eh? Wonder how long this will last. He's got degenerative nerve damage, and I don't think I've ever seen him use a bow & arrow? Also, I don't really care for Oli's kid. *shrug*
They’ve done it to fool people before. I still need to watch, but kind of bummed they couldn’t come up with something new.
