really? you're enjoying Legends over Flash? I'm really souring on that show. Just bouncing around history isn't that interesting anymore. The plot has no direction except that Dahrk is doing shit throughout history, let's try and catch him. I hope the Legion of Doom doesn't disappoint. That show has the ability to do really cool things with history and bringing in lesser known DC characters within it, which occasionally they do, but largely I barely notice the show is in a DC universe. I'm just getting very bored. (Edit) It's super early, tired, and I'm at work, reading my response it seems dickish, so apologies, not my intention.
I'm not that fussed about the story on Legends, I just like watching those characters play off one another. I'm especially excited to get Snart back into the fold (hopefully more than just one episode) this week. I feel like it has a zippy, fun feel to it that The Flash has mostly lost since season one. I don't want to get too down on The Flash, because I also love those characters and think it has a great cast and a lot of potential to be the most fun, inventive show in the universe. But god, they're really bogging it down by recycling storylines, and last night was big proof of that fact. Really? Another speedster who is going to kill another one of Barry's loved ones? I'm just really tired of Berlanti and co. thinking that the only way to raise the stakes on these shows is to kill their characters.
Yea, how many times will Barry be present to watch a loved one get murdered by a speedster? Like, come on, change it up a little. I love The Flash, but they really need to change things up next season when it comes to the big bad of the season.
that's fair, yeah i'll give Legends that and is probably the main reason I'm still watching. I need more Captain Cold in my life, him not in the crossover made me super sad. And yeah, I really liked last nights episode of Flash, and aside from the future shown, it was largely a happy end to the midseason finale which was nice haha. I'm hoping Barry listens to Jay, uses this knowledge to be happy, live the life he has, and I hope they throw us for a loop and don't kill Iris. I think the Savatar story is great, especially liked Julian's story this week, but I feel like they shot themselves in the foot a bit with how CGI Savatar is. His fight scenes a bit underwhelming and I feel like they could've made a "god of speed" with less strain on their cgi capabilities. and since this is the Arrow thread, i'll give short mention to the fact that tonight's episode looks really good haha.
The CG has never been the high point of Flash, but the Savatar/Jay scene was brutally awful. Yikes. It says a lot about how good the rest of the show is that stuff like that doesnt make me stop watching the show. In a lesser show I would refuse to watch shows with scenes at that low of a quality. They reminded me of the early quidditch scenes in the first couple Harry potters.
Julian has probably been my favorite part of this season of The Flash. I would be alright with just getting a buddy cop twist on The Flash for the next few weeks with him and Barry. I don't even know what my theory is on this one. Earth 2 Laurel?
Yea, there is just too little information to have a theory yet. It's probably safe to assume it's a result of Flashpoint, but even with that, team Arrow still experienced her dying. So if this is earth 1 Laurel she was somehow resurrected or something. On that note, Amell did a fbook live thing after the episode. Someone asked him to do two truths and a lie about next year. He said, 1. A boys road trip looking for a girl 2.a resurrection 3. Something they dedicated earlier this season gets ruined The third one is the one I have the most trouble remembering his wording. It was worded oddly and I may not have caught it properly, but that catches it's meaning.
This whole episode I was thinking is this gonna end up being Tommy? which is something I had never thought of before. I don't think it makes much sense but it is like one of two characters they've left dead.
I've been thinking that too, off-and-on, I just feel like Tommy is the one character they won't bring back. Plus, having it be Talia would give them a twist that few people will see coming because I'm pretty sure most of the audience is still assuming that Prometheus is definitely a man.
the voice definitely gives off that vibe, which would be a really fun twist! The other thought has been Olivers Dad because The List has been brought up a bunch, but this show is redeeming themselves this year and I don't think they'd blow it with something dumb like that.
About last nights ending, I saw some article before the season started saying that Laurel would be coming back during the mid season finale and was kinda dreading it because of how far this show had fallen. But I can't express enough how much I think this show has redeemed itself. Especially with these last two episodes I feel that ending was completely earned, and I'm actually excited to see where this goes.
Wibbly wobbly timey wimey prediction theory the Arrow timeline is already affected by whatever Malcom is doing on Legends and Prometheus is Tommy. I can't really see it being Talia but yeah, maybe that's the exact reason why that might work. Agree that Laurel being back is completely earned. They never really explained Prometheus' connection to Quentin, right? Has he stopped drinking for sure? Would be kind of disappointing to have Prometheus be Quentin during his drinking blackouts when kind of the same thing has been happening on The Flash.
If anyone is looking for some Arrow content while the show is still on break, @Craig Manning and I did a podcast about the show that is out today. Welcome To Geekdom Episode 012: Arrow
I guess since he showed up in this show, I'll post here. I was a fan of the Constantine show, so I dig this. Gonna be on CW Seed. Matt Ryan to reprise Constantine in animated show
I watched this episode before Legends of Tomorrow, so when Laurel said that Sarah saved her I was kinda upset that I had LOT spoiled. That bait and switch got me good, episode was really strong!
