Same. Plus I think production is set to begin on his Blade Runner reboot soon. That's exciting stuff.

Villeneuve has built up a pretty impressive resume, I'm definitely in for this.

Make sure you check out his early stuff. Polytechnique and Incendies. Great director. As a fellow french canadian i'm very happy for his success. Well deserved.

Incendies and Sicario are both dreadful films, making you wonder how much effort Villeneuve made into understanding the cultural environments that he tries to latch onto. Particularly in Sicario, he borrows the very hip hyper-realism pseudo-documentary filmmaking in a way that tries to hide the responsibility of having to make at least an attempt at coherent commentary on the situation you are dramatizing. In many ways, this approach has replaced the more nakedly outrageous action of another era while still appealing to the same anti-intellectual pursuit of "fun" in a movie. Instead, if you make very minor appeals to seriousness, critics and fans will do the rest of the work for you.

Looks good and another score from Johann. Looks reminiscent of "Contact," which is cool with me.

Didn't even have this on my radar. I had no idea they were adapting Story of Your Life. This has the potential to be fantastic and I'm loving everything about the people involved in it.
