How do you guys feel about a new season? I was pretty disappointed with season 4 tbh and I think if they didn't make a new season I'd be ok.

 

I definitely want a fifth season because 4 ended on a cliffhanger and I would hate that to be the ending of the show.

 

While I enjoyed 90% of S04, I hope they can get full cast all together for shooting and get back to the original chronological format.

 

Yeah, I want more for sure I just hope they can do it like the original three seasons and not split them up or recast them for half the season.

 

Aside from the lack of interaction between the whole cast, I really enjoyed season 4. It was a solid experiment in form and was still very, very funny. It's my least favorite season of the show but it's still Arrested Development and it's still good. I think a lot of the hate was just due to it being different from what people were expecting. It doesn't reach the highs of the previous seasons but it is by no means bad.

 

I am just repeating myself, but while season 4 isn't the funniest season of AD, it's the most brilliant. the way the stories weave into each other, delivering punchlines to jokes that haven't even been set up yet is just absurd.

I genuinely hope the new season (...if it happens) has the cast together, because that's where the real humor comes from, but I would be fine with something as clever as S4

 

S4 rules (largely in part to Paul Rust) and even though it's a little more hit-or-miss than past seasons, it's insanely smart/detailed and I'll always welcome more AD into my life

edit: like, S4 is only weak by AD standards and would be some shows' best season

Yeah, I guess I'm not opposed to a season 5 'cause I mean, the worst that could happen is it's not good and I still have the previous seasons that I adore, but for some reason season 4 just didn't do much for me. Maybe I need to re-watch it, but I remember it feeling more like a spin-off of AD than AD itself. I think that probably has to do with how the characters were separated from each other for the most part.

 

I highly recommend a re-watch, especially if you haven't done it since the season was released. Divorce your expectations a little bit.

 

I haven't done a full series re-watch in a while, actually. Might have to do that.

Just re-watched it, still not great.

 

I think I need to re-watch it too. Haven't seen it but once when it was first released, and while I appreciated it, I was kind of underwhelmed like a lot of people. Would still love more AD in whatever form though.

 

We're never going to get the chronological cut are we?

 

I re-watched season four last year, which was my first viewing since the season was released in 2013, and I found myself enjoying it more a second time around. It's good

 

Wow. Doesn't seem like it's been 4 years since S4.

 

Yeah, I wasn't aware it's been that long since season 4. To tell the truth, I hardly remember much of season 4. I remember liking it, but at this point I don't remember much except for some Tobias bits.

 

Season four is better with a re-watch, but still very confusing.

 

I've tried twice, but still can't finish season 4... hoping third time will work
