Seasons 1-3 is some of the funniest shit ever. Undeniably great. Season 4’s original cut I will defend. It’s lows are low but the highs are very high. It is a fascinating project to look back on as it was one of the very first Netflix Originals in 2013 - Mitch Hurwitz saw an opportunity to try a different structure and kind of figure out in real time what the future of television could possibly look like. He did the best he could with a cast that was difficult to wrangle together again a decade later. However season 5, is actually bad. Just so disappointing it had me questioning if the show was ever good. A recent rewatch of some old episodes was a reminder that yes, the OG run is one of the best sitcoms ever made still, it’s just the Netflix seasons were not great
I enjoyed the OG season 4. Not as much as 1-3, but I liked it. I never bothered with season 5 and it sounds like I made the right call.
