Original run of season four is the way to go.

 

I never even watched 5 after how disappointed I was in 4. I need to do a full rewatch soon and go all the way through.

 

Yeah the narration in the s4 remix is literally endless

 

I don't think season 3 is that good

 

It is

 

Nah 2 is peak

 

1-3 is great. The rest is bad bad.

 

season 3 is one of the best tv seasons ever, actually

 

1-3 are undeniable

 

3 is easily the weakest of the OG run

still incredibly good.

 

I have seen a few episodes of season 4 one time and that was enough for me to know that I would never be watching anything past season 3 ever again. I also got into the show before they started making the new seasons tho which probably affected my opinion more than if I was thru watching for the first time post reboot

 

Seasons 1-3 are in the pantheon of best shows ever made. "Untouchably amazing" is right

Seasons 4-5 are like a cover band version of Arrested Development. They make me sad. It's not even close to the same show, not in structure, not in jokes, NOTHING. There are some funny moments but almost none of it works and the episodes feel endlessly long.

 

You guys are wrong about season four. It's not as tight as the first three, but it is very, very funny.

 

Original season 4 is incredible for what it is. Damn near masterpiece in ensemble story telling.

 

I liked season 4 fine when it first came out but it’s felt like hitting a brick wall when I’ve tried to rewatch the entire show since

 

My biggest complaint was they tried to essentially serialize the show, with these long plots that lasted all season but weren't that funny even in small doses. It felt VERY repetitive. Yes, there were funny ideas in there, but overall it didn't work. And season 5 was all of the same flaws except even worse.

Also the narration goes from being a key to the show in seasons 1-3 to kinda WAY TOO MUCH in the later seasons as they lean on it to explain so much more

My order is 2 > 1 > 3 > 4 (original run)

don't even rank the remixed 4 and S5 seeing as I watched them both once, barely paying attention.

 

It’s just easier to pretend 4 and 5 don’t exist

 

I've watched 1-3 easily 20+ times and I couldn't even finish season 5

 

Tobias dressed as the Thing walking into To Catch a Predator is one of the funniest jokes in the entire series

 

“Daddy needs to get his rocks off!”

The way the writers always got Tobias to say something innocent that has a sexual meaning is masterful.

 

Plus, Paul Rust worked on season four!

 

The best part about those jokes is that they almost certainly wrote them all backwards. Like, they definitely came up with “I’m afraid I just blue myself” and then wrote some convoluted storyline to shoehorn the joke in lol

 

You scared the shit out of me that there might be another terrible season.

My heart can't take it.
