Also it's a bigger problem that he's dead set on defending Tambor at the expense of the women who've been victimized by him in one way or another. If he honestly thinks Tambor is innocent of the accusations, or has done the right thing in apologizing or whatever, Bateman should still not ignore what other people are saying and talk over them, and he certainly shouldn't say there's "no reason" why Tambor shouldn't be allowed to come back, as if he knows the full extent of what happened and can make a call like that.

 

^^^ the issue of the allegations against Tambor re: Transparent got lost in the shuffle in this interview entirely.

Apology was decent but actions speak louder, and that part takes time to establish a pattern of actual changed behavior. Time will tell - it always does.

 

Who could have possibly predicted that making a point of bringing a man accused of sexual assault along for a press tour would backfire?

That’s a really weird tweet from Amber, but I am glad that she has spoken to both of them and according to the interview did the same thing with her husband.

 

People were being awful to her on Twitter. Tweet seemed tame compared to what I woulda wanted to say heh.

Yeah I never go on twitter directly so I just see when things get pulled. Harassing her is definitely uncalled for. Out of context it reads like she thinks she shouldn’t be involved in the conversation at all which is definitely hard to imagine with her position in Time’s Up. But if she’s being personally attacked that’s another story for sure.

 

Someone needs to cancel all of Cross’ interviews and take his phone away from him.

David Cross built his entire career on being as obnoxious and arrogant and caustic as possible while tearing people he doesn't like down, and he has to eggshell the Tambor situation? This goes to show how deep the boys club goes. When it happens to one of your friends, you freeze up and jump to any reason to defend them

I got to the "I'd visit my boy in jail" part and was just like oh fuck this all why do I read anything or do anything.

 

Like, I've had people I work with who I associated with say racist or homophobic or ableist things and that doesn't really leave my mind. I don't love them like family. I have to hold a work relationship with that person, but how the fuck can I connect to someone who thinks like that? We simply don't get along on an inherent level.

And that's just ignorant ass language, not explicit physical or sexual or emotional violence. I don't get it.

 

Also seriously, how bad was what Tambor said to her on set if even in the middle of that article where he tiptoes around everything he still says it was the worst thing he’s ever seen someone say on a set and made him uncomfortable. Yikes.

 

Jessica Walters said she's never been treated or seen anything like it in all her years of hollywood. I imagine it was abhorrently awful

 

The fact that they both characterize it that way is truly horrifying. I really hope she is getting continued support and help. It’s absolutelt ridiculous that they all say they would still work with him without any issue.

 

The specific demands people are asking for on twitter is why twitter is absolute poison.
