If I had to pick one joke from this show that perfectly sums up its sense of humor, it might be the scene where Tobias gives Buster his analrapist business card.

Tobias thinking that correcting the pronunciation = correcting the meaning, while Buster thinking it means what it says no matter how you pronounce it, perfectly illustrates how much fun this show has with verbal comedy. There are countless other examples but this one always sticks with me.

 

The entire cast of 'Arrested Development' will return for a new season

 

Ugh. I want to get excited, but the "I THINK the actors..." makes this meaningless to me. I won't get excited until they actually start filming.

 

Yep, it's definitely about time for another "We're close to it happening!" update. See you guys again when the next, similarly worded update happens in six months.

I'm with you. I think it will happen, just how and what will it look like?

 

I think they should do 10 episodes and end it. Keep it short, keep the episodes at ~25 minutes, make it feel like the first 3 seasons and end the story once and for all.

I totally agree! For whatever reason, it seems that when Mitch Hurwitz is more restricted he makes a better episode.

If you don't wanna click the link, reportedly part of the way they're working around the availability of the cast is by having significant chunks of each episode be flashbacks, with younger versions of the characters played by different actors.

 

If they can't do it properly I'd rather they just not do it.

 

That is such a fucking terrible idea that I refuse to believe it's true

 

Note that it's just a rumor (although generally Ausiello is usually pretty good about these things, which is why I posted it to begin with), and that even then it says that it's not 100% set in stone... but yes it's an awful idea. If you can't get the cast for that long, maybe make a short season or just a movie.
