Surprised that Mitch phrased that statement the way he did since it’s May 29. That’s not really that unusual of a rollout for a Netflix show’s new season.
Stopped watching the remix after a few episodes because I wasn't laughing. Don't see myself finishing. Rewatching Season 1 and laughing loud all the time. I think Season 4 was just weak, and although I'll give Season 5 a shot maybe this show just shouldn't exist anymore.
I really just hope Mitch and the writers wrote this season with an actual ending this time, just in case.
Season 4 is certainly the weakest of the bunch, and no amount of re-mixing will change that. The 7-year hiatus didn’t help in terms of the writing, but the biggest obstacle was the role that the actor’s various availabilities had on the plot/tone of the season. For season 5, the hiatus has been a little shorter and it seems like the characters will spend more time together. It’s worth giving another chance.
The recut feels like an acknowledgement that a lot of S4’s experiments didn’t work and that S5 will be a more traditional season, trailer seems to confirm that Also so far as Netflix reunion seasons go (AD, Gilmore Girls, Full House, Trailer Park Boys) AD’s is far and away the best imo. Was thinking about that earlier
I will always and forever stan for the OG S4. It was great and I honestly think I prefer it to the re-cut.
If it matters any, if you already have seen the OG season 4 I recommend just skipping to maybe like episode 10 or 11. Trust me there’s enough recaps that will remind you what you missed and that’s when I thought the season started to get better minus some Michael/Rebel Alley storyline stuff.
Original S4 totally worked for me. It's interesting how little carryover that trailer shows from S4. Buster is clearly not in jail, Michael and George Michael seem to be getting along, etc. Also Tobias is dressed as Michael in one scene and Buster in another, I need to know why.
Now I have to get all the way through the remix. That trailer looks good. Even the jokes seemed quicker and more like seasons 1-3. I have high hopes for this. SO EXCITED!
Right before they started filming he was talking a lot about how this was part 2 of a three part story, so...I doubt it
lol well there still is a lot of that honestly, but I still think its better as you go along, mostly because theres so much time-jumping earlier on but the closer it gets to Cinco de Quatro and the stories are closer in time it gets less jarring.
Lol remember when S4 was just supposed to be 8 episodes to catch us up on what the characters had been doing before making a movie?
It almost looks like Maebe's dressing up like Mallory too. My guess is its something along the lines of they needed Michael to be there to shoot these promos , but he wasn't there, then of course Tobias wanted to "play him in the role" and everybody says no. Then Mike comes back but Tobias tries to prove to the others by imitating Michael (that we see in the trailer) that he could do it. Something like that.
