It must not be for me then. It feels like a novelty movie. Good for one or two viewings, then nothing to gain from it.
Winkler said “midsummer” so to me this tweet implies we’re probably getting it this month. Season 4 originally came out Memorial Day weekend so that’s my guess. Wouldn’t mind a surprise drop sooner though...
Mitch's statement about it being "so soon you'll wonder why you're just hearing about it now" makes it seem like it's going to be way short than even a month. Like, to me that implies "so soon there isn't any time to promote it beyond releasing the S4 re-cut." I could be wrong but I really think getting it on the 11th is not unrealistic.
Oh my goodness this is exciting news. Season 4 was fine, but not up to the high standards of 1-3. Hoping season 5 is great.
Yeah I’m guessing / hoping recut this week and new season within the next two weeks. Wonder if any of this is due to everything that went on with Jeffrey and not wanting to have a long lead up of articles / think pieces that could affect the new season?
Nah, Netflix almost always has only a week or two notice for TV season releases anymore, except for like... Stranger Things
Netflix has been tryna surprise release a show for awhile now. AD makes sense cuz the audience is gonna be there regardless of whether you built it up or not.
Huzzah! Currently finishing up another series rewatch, for the, oh I don’t know, 20th time I swear. Mitch’s update today makes up for all the bullshit 2018 has given me.
Yes, it is. But comparing a 22-minute episode of comedy to a near 2-hour long drama/thriller doesn't make sense. Comedy is innately gimmicky.
Wait, "comedy is innately gimmicky?" I guess if the only comedians in the world are Jeff Dunham and the Blue Collar guys, maybe?
I think it is in the sense that jokes are intended to catch you off guard and kind of trick you. And again, comparing a comedy episode to a movie doesn't make sense. Also, I don't like how that other guy comes in and asks leading questions and then just stops. If you have a point, come out and say it.
I had no point. I just ran out of questions, so i said "no further questions," like a hotshot on TV. Did I come off as a slick lawyer? That's what I was going for.
That's not really a "gimmick," though. And gimmicky comedians definitely don't catch their audiences off guard and trick them; the whole point of a gimmick comedian is you know exactly what you're getting, i.e. the gimmick. Nobody is surprised when Larry the Cable Guy says "git er done" after every sentence or when Jeff Foxworthy goes into his stupid "You know you're a redneck when..." bits.
