Now this thread has me listening to Five Years with the Sun—truly meaningful EP for me. I’m probs gonna just do a discography run at this point (out of order). He truly doesn’t have a single bad album. Last I heard from Mal, the follow-up to The World is Racing got accidentally deleted when his laptop crashed. Idk if he’s working on anything new at this point…
listened to this masterpiece yesterday made me realize that this year it's been 10 years since it came out. maybe one of the most important albums in terms of my own personal growth and self-healing. I sorta wish Mal had more of an online presence, not necessarily even here - maybe we would have gotten a fitting tribute this year in some capacity, but oh well. seeing this pressed on vinyl and owning it is a dream for me, and I'll just keep wishing for it until it hopefully happens. maybe on the 15th anniversary.
Haha he told a guy he had small balls because he was a Celtics fan and the guy turned out to be a testicular cancer survivor or something? and everyone got very mad
I don’t know enough about basketball to know why rooting for the Heat is legitimately controversial, but he got into it with like several people in there and then said “that’s nuts” when someone tried to gotcha him over unknowingly making a ball joke to a testicular cancer survivor Though I coulda sworn there was something even before that too in the entertainment forum that went pretty off the rails lol. Dude is a scoundrel. Their Bodies In A Fog is a classic in this house though edit: ah yeah, he spoiled It Comes At Night in the old horror thread and was banned for that as well
