Listened to it again and yeah.. this record was pretty underwhelming for me. A few decent tracks (World Burn Down, Whatever Who Cares, and Teardrop) but nothing that really sticks with me sadly.
I just bought a VIP ticket. It says it comes with a tour exclusive copy of DTMB on vinyl (while supplies last). Anyone know how that works? Do they mail out the vinyl or do you have to grab it at the venue? If so that sucks, I dont wanna have to carry that around all show! The "while supplies last" is kinda sketch too, but if I do end up getting it, the $102 price for the ticket is a pretty sweet deal.
Yea, I saw that and thought it was kind of shady (for lack of a better word). I forget what the vinyl was selling for, but $30 is a big difference, IMO. I wonder if you’d still get vinyl, but not the exclusive variant. Then pricing still adds up.
They have a real nice set for their tour. Bummer about nothing from Rain Museum though. Armor for Sleep Setlist at Roxian Theatre, McKees Rocks
That’s definitely a nice set for the time they have. Not surprised they are playing all old songs. This is definitely a heavy nostalgic lineup lol
I actually introduced a friend to Armor for Sleep through a random song that came up from The Rain Museum, think it was Tomorrow Faded Away, and they really vibed with it. So it got them one new fan at the very least! (I do like the album as a whole as well)
I think I like Whatever Who Cares and How Far Apart. Pretty sure that’s it for me? Shout out Kamtin (Teenage Wrist/Heavenward/absolutepunk.net) who played bass on that record and helped write Whatever Who Cares. Kamtin is a badass. Everyone should check out Heavenward.
So, I messed up. They didn’t play End of the World, they actually played In This Nightmare Together. So they did play one off of RM.
I think it’s very solid for a comeback album, I’m interested to see what they could do if they recorded another one actually together.
I really liked Rain Museum but I also think it didn't do anything that hadn't already been done better by them. I totally see how an old fan would be underwhelmed but a new listener would think it's cool. I like it, but it just doesn't have the highs some of their other albums had. Also seeing them tonight for the first time, can't wait!
Going to the show tonight in Jersey. Curious if they shake up the setlist or even swap spots with Finch with this being a hometown show. Funny how in November Armor headlined and sold out a larger venue in the area (Welmont Theater), and tonight they are the opening act at a smaller venue, and its still not sold out.
Yea, this is pretty curious tbh. Finch, Bayside, Armor in Central Jersey not selling out is almost odd. It is on Spring Break for kids on a Thursday Night though.
Did not know Kam was involved with The Rain Museum. That and Ben posting pro-Israel stuff has me kind of out on this record, unfortunately.
I get not playing a ton of material off a new album when you're an opener and legacy act. But you gotta play one to entice fans to give the album a chance or a second chance.
