Arkells - Morning Report (August 5th, 2016)

I don't hear near enough of this band around these parts - absolute Canadian pop-rock masters, releasing their 4th full length on August 5th, cannot fucking wait. If you've slept on this band until now, don't anymore.

 

I really, really enjoy these guys.

They're pretty big up north, right?

 

They're decently big in Canada yeah. I never know what that means on an international/American level though. Fuck it I'll just use this thread to pimp the hell out of some of their best tracks. You're welcome you filthy bastards.

 

Didn't like High Noon too much but "Making Due" is really good, will check this out for sure

 

Listening to High Noon right now and really enjoying it, Morning Report is next up on my list

 

it might seem weird, but High Noon sounds like Canda's response to Melee's Devils & Angels, hah

 

Weird. There's a band I haven't heard about in awhile - I'll take it as a sign that I need to listen to that album.

Interested to hear if you prefer High Noon or Morning Report - to my ears, High Noon is the vastly superior album. Frankly neither of them can touch Michigan Left.

 

maybe I'll have to backtrack to that one TOO, hah. We'll see

 

Here's my homer pick, the album closer to Michigan Left, featuring former Ms. Bon Iver, Kathleen Edwards. Fuck this song is great

 

That song's solid

 

Definitely don't like this album as much as the last, but Making Due is a really cool song

 

Leather Jacket is one of my favorites by them. New album was really good, hopefully they catch on some more here in the States.

 

I've come around to the new album since my last post about it, getting excited to see them in a few weeks now!
