NASA, Bloodline, Fake Smile, Bad Idea are the tracks that really stand out to me after a few listens. Definitely more cohesive than sweetener, and I have a feeling this album will win back a lot of the people who weren’t a big fan of the Pharrell songs.
Much prefer this to Sweetener. Concise and cohesive. A lot tighter everywhere. Impressive for her. Bloodline and Bad Idea stick out as the standouts.
Bad Idea, title track and 7 rings are my favorites here, they should have cut Make Up, I feel like overall its more quality than sweetener although nothing here hits the highs of god is a woman/breathin/get well soon on that record. I think this one is definitely more cohesive but almost runs the risk of sounding too similar..? I love that they put the singles so late in the tracklist though, that rules.
Why is the Apple Music/iTunes release date February 10th? People are posting screenshots of them switching to Spotify over this.
I’ve only skimmed through it, but I really love the production, except for maybe two or three songs (one of which predictably is a Martin song). Also, I got some Rihanna vibes from it? Maybe that’ll change. I’m looking forward to digging into it.
Spot on haha. I’m also a little bit burnt out on max Martin stuff but that stuff is still undeniable. And i just love Ari’s vibe in general.
