Still can’t believe how much I go back to this album, especially since I’ve never listened to a full album of hers prior to this. She was also an absolute delight in wicked
Only uncover if you potentially want to never un-hear something on this album. Since the first time I heard it, when Ari sings "ordinary thing" in ordinary things, all I can hear is "ornery thing," probably especially more since her grandma is credited on the track, and I can't un-hear it
Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead 2LP (D2C Exclusive) - Ariana Grande | Shop March 28th, 6 new songs plus the remixes
These songs are fantastic and add to the album in a way that really justifies the deluxe. Need to start mentioning this album in the top tier of pop from the last few years.
This is where I've been heading the last couple months, I really really love this album, and I agree that these new tracks only add to the album. It feels like a continuation of the story, not some tacked on b-sides (which, to Steve's point, maybe they are not)
ah, maybe I wasn’t paying attention but I figured they were all b-sides/cut from the final pool, save for the extended intro I guess
Yeah we'll probably never really know, but I could see it both ways. Hard to really guess with the way artists present deluxe editions these days. Maybe these are actually b sides which would be a bit surprising they didn't make the album, or maybe she made an EP called brighter days and it made sense to tack it onto the album for a stream boost to the original, like what SZA did
I have no inside info but based on the writing credits, how consistent it is with the sound of the other tracks, and how busy her last year has been, I’d posit that all of these tracks were at least started in the original sessions. I could see certain lyrics being updated (the “best actor” line in “twilight zone”) but the songwriting is so consistent and I don’t think they’d get Max Martin back in full for a few deluxe throwaways.
Sigh, here we go again..... Instrumental version, a capella version and alternate digital key art versions available at her website now
