Gave this my first listen this morning. Gotta echo all the gushing going on in here, this is incredible. I couldn't imagine not listening to the bonus tracks on this during an album spin. Touch It is one of the best songs I've heard all year. Initial standouts are Into You, Everyday, and Touch It. Obviously the three catchiest songs on here, so it's definitely possible my favorites will change over time. Leave Me Lonely was probably the only track I wasn't really digging after first listen. I'm thinking that one could have been cut. But overall, wow, what an accomplishment. To go 3/3 to start your career in the pop genre is so damn impressive.
I so agree, definitely a highlight moment on the album. Love her vocals after the bridge as well. That's such a great track.
Is it me, or is she not using as much auto-tune as I thought she would on this? 'cause her voice sounds really strong/authentic on these tracks
I do feel like other artists pursuing this type of direction would use more auto-tune or some kind of vocal manipulation.
I'm too ugly to pull off the snapchat filter that lets you wear the bondage bunny mask thing. It's a fun idea though.
I haven't listened too much to her past work, so I'm not sure if she's used it in the past. But it seems like this type of music would lend itself to the artist using Auto-Tune, but her voice seems so strong on it's own that Auto-Tune wouldn't be needed much, if at all
Some tracks like Dangerous Woman feel like they were trying to go for a less electronic vibe, doesn't mean there's no auto tune. Also doesn't mean she's not a great singer, one of the best voices on pop music no question.
I think it's more about how obvious it is; if it's used to just touch up a song, no problem. But then some artists make it so obvious, that it takes away from their work, imo. But AG's voice is great; really excited to see how grows in the future
I mean Ariana sang Dangerous Woman acapella so it's not like they're using auto tone bc she can't sing. It just makes the album sound cooler/more electronic.
So glad that focus is not part of this album. Loved some of My Everything, but this is great front to back. I have never been a huge fan. Sounds like Max was a big part of this album, is that correct?
i don't know about "always" but yeah, you can use studio effects tastefully, or you can be Britney Spears.
I don't think anyone here is talking down on autotune. I just think on some songs where I think they would modulate the singer's voice a little more or in a certain direction they don't do the same with Ariana. If anything her natural talents allows her/the producer/etc. to explore different sounds and ideas. I could be talking out my butt tho. But I shit golden turds.
Just pressed play on the album for my first listen through. Pretty jazzed for this. I have only heard "Dangerous Woman" and "Into You" and loved them both.
