I had so much fun with this, but I am an unapologetic Vaughn fanboy.

I love how Elly Conway is apparently a world famous spy novelist whose books somehow have action figures in the span of a few years especially the implication that an evil covert organization was highly dedicated to getting a book published and distributed
Torn because this probably didn't warrant a sequel and the fact that I would watch 8000 movies starring Bryce Dallas Howard Sam Rockwell and Ariana DeBose

We gotta stop this guy from making movies

The 2 big set pieces/fight scenes in the 2nd half were unbearable

this wasnt funny and looked like shit (aside from the cast obviously)

Do people hate all his other movies? I am only going by the ones he directed, but I’ve liked all the ones I’ve seen. Which would be Kick-Ass through The King’s Man. And has story credit for Days of Future Past, which was great.

Not defending this movie of course as I haven’t seen it. But is it that bad he should stop making movies?

there's certainly a few others who think he's like some walmart tarantino, but i like his genre films for the most part

I feel like most problems with Kick-Ass were the fans who thought it was aspirational and were weird about Chloe

I loved Kick-Ass on release and found it pretty unbearable on my most recent rewatch. I like Kingsman 1 but I thought 2 was pretty bad. I’m kinda whatever about X-Men First Class. Never saw The King’s Man

maybe the biggest issue with kick-ass is that it's such a half measure. within the first (and best) 15-20 it establishes itself as one kind of movie, only to ditch the whole "okay, we're not doing what the OTHER superhero movies are doing" shit like midway in

Gotcha. I thought his stuff is relatively well received normally. But that makes sense. He’s certainly no all time favorite of mine, but the church fight and fireworks sequences from the first Kingsman are great.

that’s not the movie’s problem then. That’s a fans problem.

    I haven’t seen Kick-Ass in like 10 years, so I dunno.

I get that the second is not as good, but I still liked both of them.

First Class is one of the best x-men movies. I wish we could get a whole movie of Magneto going around killing Nazis. He is the most appealing character in the movie and almost a hero until the final sequence. Love that movie.
