nice, I was hoping it would be a concept album

 

honestly, from that description I'm kind of expecting an AM part 2 but hopefully it's tweaked enough to make it stand out


I mean not that AM part 2 is bad or anything but like others have said, hopefully it has enough weird stuff going on.

 

They have never made two albums in the same style and I don't expect them to start now. I'm sure it'll bear some similarities to AM but I highly doubt it'll sound like AM Pt 2. The song titles alone suggest some weird directions.

Plus this is the longest break between albums they've had, so it'd be even more surprising if Alex is still writing the same kind of songs he did for AM. If anything I wonder how much it'll sound like the recent Last Shadow Puppets album.

 

I hope they get super weird and rock out on this new album. Kinda like what Jack White did with his new album.

 

By the title, the album art, and the teaser, we can almost guarantee we're going to get some spacey stuff on here, right?

 

Give me Arctic Impala.

 

@tucah @dadbolt and i were talking about this band last night so im spending my day off listening to them and its been real good.

this band puts out so much material between the EPs, b-sides to singles, and bonus tracks from the albums. cant wait to see what direction this new one goes.

 

yep, i've been doing the same. i'm fairly sure i skipped listening to a ton of the b-sides and EPs (and there are so many of them) so it's been a great morning discovering new (to me) arctic monkeys.

 

same! hadnt listened to most of them. really id only ever listened to the Who The Fucks Arctic Monkeys? Ep

 

It took me several years but I'm finally coming around to Suck It And See.

 

I also have the feeling it's going to sound more Last Shadow Puppets than previous Arctic Monkeys records.

 

Arctic Monkeys have the best b-sides than any other band ever.

 

A ton of my favorite songs of theirs are b-sides

 

i cant believe how many there are. its such an old school way of doing it too, instead of just tacking them onto albums theyre the literal side B of a single or they take a single and make a small little EP out of it.

Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend is a favorite so far

 

that/stop the world i want to get off with you/red right hand are some my favorites so far. i've found the humbug era in particular has a ton of gems.

 

YFWN and Humbug have so many good ones.

 

The Afternoon’s Hat is one of my absolute favorites. The Bakery means a lot to me, too

 

You're So Dark is corny and bad but I still love it.

 

Is there a playlist or something available with them all in one place? I feel overwhelmed by the amount there are out there..

 

Just go chronologically. Most of them are on streaming services

Personal favorites if you want to listen to more of a project than random song are the My Propellor EP, Flourescent Adolescent EP and Who The Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys

 

I honestly don't like the last two albums at all, so I really hope we get something different and exciting

 

I've found an Apple Music playlist with 38 on, feel like that will be most of them. Something to listen to on the way to work at least .
