Wait is this basically an Alex solo album? I didn't realize the other members didn't even play on some of the songs

 

That's super neat. I've been listening to these guys soooo much the last couple months and they constantly blow me away. Alex Turners lyrics especially are just out of this world

I feel like my coworkers are getting sick of it. Especially One Point Perspective espcially because I probably listen to that song 10, 15 times a day

 

no. it’s an arctic monkeys album. he just did more of the writing than usual.

 

Did Alex not write and record all of his parts of the record before even showing them to the band? I'm fairly sure his vocal takes are the takes he did on his own prior to the band getting involved with the record.

I may have imagined that though. Sure I remember it being a talking point when the record came out.

 

some of the vocals and piano are the original takes but, no, he did not do all of his parts before

 

I knew there was something to do with his vocals, but fair enough!

one of the most fun albums to play along with

and humbug with guitar

 

Man Humbug and Favourite Worst Nightmare are a blast on guitar

 

Four Out of Five is real fun on guitar as well

 

They have tons of fun guitar parts to play. Learning their stuff is actually how I started getting past just basic chords

 

It’s true. I still play the riffs from Brianstorm on guitar pretty regularly
