I don't know how to take you seriously when you type like a kid who routinely sends troll posts to people on Xbox Live for not playing enough support in Overwatch. "im better at this than you. your making us loose, git gud." Seriously, it's not hard to type. Almost everything even has auto correct nowadays.
You say this, yet your first reaction to someone liking an album more than you was “uhhhhhhhh” Really put some effort into typing that one
I make typos on here ALL the time. Fat thumbs and an iPhone keyboard don’t mix, not something to call someone out over. Hell, autocorrect is the problem half the time.
I type like a teen on Xbox live because I am. I'm 15 years old and uhhhhhh I'm gonna ttly pwn you if you keep posting
Solid post. Really adding to the discussion. I don't know, guess we have different tastes. As someone who was intrigued but cautious about what this album might be, and thought I might dislike it from reviews beforehand, I really really enjoy this record. I think Alex's voice is incredible and really carries it, but the songs themselves are well formed and are seeming memorable after a few listens. Had Four Out Of Five stuck in my head all day after just one listen.
I've gone back and forth several times throughout the years but I've been horde for about two years now and don't plan on going back to alliance anytime soon especially since the new horde capital in the upcoming expansion is the coolest city they've ever made
I think I'm on board with this being their best album, there's a lot of creativity going on in the lyrics and the mood they create perfectly blends with the music. It's just fun to listen to, and it's not predictable either. It's a different take on that "lounge" feel that's become cool in indie rock now.
The thing I have with this album is it sounds so good and I obviously can't jam out to it like "R U Mine?" or a lot of their old stuff and that's fine with me, but his lyrics have started to grate across my eardrums. I don't find them relatable. I find them utterly baffling. I want to like this because I like the band and I like some of Alex's solo stuff like when he did the soundtrack for Submarine. This was just an effort to listen to.
I mean as an artist gets more and more famous it's natural they'd start writing about stuff that's not as instantly relatable to the common person, but that doesn't mean his writing isn't still gripping and interesting
Okay... then I guess you’re probably also realizing that you can have a negative opinion on a piece of art and still contribute substantially to a discussion where others disagree with you. I don’t know why you thought quoting people who like something with dismissive non-statements would lead to anything else lol... there’s been a lot of positive and negative opinions in here without people bashing each others’ takes, it’s pretty easy to do.
These lyrics are great, to me they're more about the different images they create in my mind and how they associate together than immediate accessibility.
As quite a lot of people have said, this record is divisive as hell. And that's a good thing. A record like this is meant to promote discussion.
I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor was also huge I'd put this band more on the level of like The Strokes
black keys were arguably indie coming out of the gate too. and it makes more sense bc they've toured together several times.
cherry picking single lines devoid of context and asking a loaded question isn't a very strong way to make an argument
I enjoy discussion and I think getting to see something from someone else's perspective is a good thing. I'm sorry if I came off as dickish earlier.
Yeah after listening to this in full, there were a few songs I really liked, but I’m let down by it overall. I wish this would’ve been a little EP rather than a full length
someone who says "i can't jam out to this" is critiquing the posts of others. man. you can't write this shit, fam.
