I can’t believe how emotional I’m getting from a song titled “The Ultracheese” It’s wonderful listening to a new album by one of my favorite ever bands
Yeah, echo all of this. The record is absolutely great. So much depth to it as well. I feel like listening whilst driving to work might not have been the best idea, need to sit back with some headphones. I get that people might not like the different style and it is going to divide old fans right down the middle. But right now, I'm on the side thinking this is flawless.
AM was everywhere. Probably the biggest album in terms of plays during my four years of college radio.
Incredibly disappointed with this. It's not bad, but there's nothing there for me. It has no relatability for me. His lyrics are really starting to get on my nerves.
oh yeah, i knew it was big but like, that's massive. like, arcade fire doesn't have a platinum album. bon iver took ten years to go platinum for for emma. can't think of any other similar bands to hit it that big. was never into the band so i guess i didn't realize just how enormous they were outside of the normal big indie rock group
arcade fire and bon iver have never had a huge single on the level of do I wanna know that really crossed over fully
kiss my ass i’ve been around since cigarette smoker fiona don’t gimme the “it’s no WPSIATWIN” horseshit
Wow. That's awfully aggressive. I gave a one word response that, granted, wasn't a well thought-out or detailed reaction, but there's absolutely no need for you to be that rude.
Also, don't play the "I listened to them first so I know more and care more than you" schtick because it makes you look childish. I know the hypocrisy coming from someone who said "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
If you don't like this album that's cool but if your way of getting across that you don't like it's by quoting people who do like it with posts like "uhhhhhh," well that's pretty lame
i wasnt playing that schtick lmao i was playing the "i am well aware which album people seem to always look towards as being this band's untouchable best album. the first album. the one i started with. this album is better than that one" shtick.
the more i'm thinking about it the more that comparison makes sense, for some reason i always thought of them more in the indie rock realm than more of the straight alt rock but i was definitely mistaken
