....aaaand, it's unplayable. Edit: Domino got back to me this morning and a new one is on the way. Hope this isn't a common issue.
Fuck this is excellent so far. They really don’t make the same album twice. Does Alex say “sideboob” on the title track?
I'm definitely still breaking into this. I don't find myself wanting to return to it much, but I like it when I am hearing it. I just am waiting for it to really click and for me to love it.
I'm a pretty casual Arctic Monkeys fan but this is fantastic. It sounded right up my alley from everyone's descriptions, and it's pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Really excited to listen more because it definitely seems like a record that gets better with each listen.
For all of you first listeners - put the album on repeat and listen to The Ultracheese play into Star Treatment. That's probably my favorite thing about this album.
I'm clearly in the minority but I'm really not big on this so far. Gonna give it a few more listens but first impressions were that I found it a bit dull.
I avoided all pieces of news/threads about this album because I wanted to listen to it without any bias when it came out and this is....a lot different than I expected
Love this on first listen. Love how piano driven it is. So many different and interesting things were done on this, and I'm glad they're still taking risks like this.
I had to stop listening because I got to work, but really interesting so far. Some songs (American Sports, title track, and Four out of Five) I was into instantly, while some others I’ll have to spend some more time with to really form a strong opinion
Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner Decodes Every Song on Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino | Pitchfork This guy is so impossible, haha. This part actually made me laugh out loud: On this track, you sing about making a song that “may well just end up too clever for its own good.” Is it hard for you to turn that self-critical part of your brain off when you’re writing? Evidently.
I'm with you. I feel like I'm in the minority on this thread, but I really didn't like it on first listen. I'll take another couple of listens though.
