well that was a weird opener. first time i'd describe an arctic monkeys song as.....lush? its really gorgeous, wondering where the rest of this will end up.
you should, especially if you’re into him with more experimental instrumentation. the first album from them, primarily.
alright just finished. For me One Point Perspective, title track, She Looks Like Fun and Batphone are the standouts. Cool cool album. Will definitely be smoking to this in the future.
This is a hard one for me but I think I'd love this album with a different vocalist. The music there is really interesting and not as one pace as I thought it was going to be. There's a lot of great arrangements and instrumentation that I would listen to again - Batphone, Four out of Five, One Point Perspective, the title track. I know that won't be a popular opinion but I don't think Alex is a strong enough vocalist to carry these. I know it is obviously what they were going for but he comes off bored, lethargic and he isn't that interesting a lyricist to me anymore. I love the first two albums and hold them in the highest regard. I thought half of AM was up there but this is exactly the direction I didn't fancy them going in. I prefer Arctic Monkeys when they're faster paced, lyrically conscious of their surroundings and commentating on it and jump around the place. I definitely admire the cohesion of sound that they've made here though and I'll try give it more listens.
This is gonna be a real grower of an album, not bad upon first and second listens. Just not what I was expecting at all. It's peculiar. In a good way definitely. But going to need time to vibe with it.
I googled it and although I very much disagree with his assessment of this record, glad I found another slang to add to my daily convos
Finally listening now. I'd be surprised if this is a sped up version. Only up to Golden Trunks now, but I'm pretty disappointed so far. One Point Perspective is the only song that's caught my ear. EDIT: Nevermind, just finishing up Four Out of Five and this is the best one so far.
I'm pretty sure the last track plays into the first track if you listen to it on a loop. That's something I just noticed.
