I can’t remember another band taking as much of a risk in changing their sound going from AM to Tranquility (and this new single) since Radiohead’s Kid A Took me a while to actually “get it” with TBHC but I also enjoy music that clicks after multiple listens
yeaaaaaa if the rest of the LP is like this track it’s gonna be another good late night record and I’m a-ok with that
I don’t spend enough time with porno soundtracks to be able to confidently answer that. If that’s the case though, maybe I need to check out more of them.
What an awesome direction this band has been heading in. I didn’t even love their last one but respect and admire it so much if that makes sense.
For real. I’ll echo what others have said. The pivot after AM has been incredible to watch relative to what they were doing (not really a new sound in terms of the history of music ala 70’s rock), but damn. They followed up one of the biggest rock records of the 21st century with a lounge piano space crooner. And it seems as though they’re still on that track. Really cool. They could have done variations on AM for the next 2 decades, they didn’t. Respect.
Damn. Fully planned on not listening to the single until the whole album dropped but I couldn't make it an hour. Absolutely loved it. I'll admit the "70s porn" comment above through my completely off what to expect.
Alex is trying soooo hard to be Nick Cave. This new single is good but it’s nothing groundbreaking, Nick was doing this whole aesthetic in the 90s.
humbug is their nick cave record lol this sounds nothing like him they're deep in their scott walker bag
I really like this but I also hope the whole album doesn't sound like it if that makes sense Also is mirrorball British for disco ball?
