Good song. I hope there were still some hangers-on hoping for one more anthem for the lads and got this instead.
Always assumed we'd hear from them as and when, they've been a famously private band when not promoting an album. Sure, some stuff got out here and there but they usually keep quiet between records.
According to the Apple music interview this song is completely new and was recorded in two days at Abbey Road studios. Seems it will indeed be the last song for quite a while.
Went on an Arctic Monkeys binge today and listened to everything (including singles and EPs) up to Suck It and See while at work. I’m going to finish up the rest tomorrow. If this is the end, then man, what a run they had.
This song is so good. I kind of soured on The Car over time and this just showed they still have the juice. Really a bummer if this is the last thing they do
