I Want It All is the worst thing on AM by a huge margin, IMO. Cutting any of Fireside/No 1/Mad Sounds is absolute blasphemy, as well
so you’re saying I’m rich? Got it. feels good. guess that means I should take it off the cork board in the garage
I got out of collecting physical vinyl singles a while back and I wish I hadn't. c'mon guys, release a b-sides comp please!
Yeah that's also the one that I'm really missing. I'm glad that I collected all the other ones when they were released. Got a copy of Matador/Daframe2r a while back.
The speed at which this thread died when the album dropped speaks volumes about its reception. A nice little album but I think I'm now comfortable in putting it in last in their discography (I think). It has some excellent songs. All of the songs they made videos for are top tier AM, but there's a lot of songs that just kind of exist on this record and don't scratch any itch
Ah that's interesting because I absolutely love this album and still listen to it all the time. Might be my 4th ranked album of theirs. And yet I still cant get into Tranquility at all and have that ranked dead last.
It's pretty boring to just bump a thread to be like "this album still rules." But this album still rules.
I enjoy this album but there's just too much music released and my listening habits tend to be based on who has upcoming tour dates. They aren't playing here until Sep so I'll likely start digging back in around the summertime.
There's an arrogance about this band that i've never been able to get past enough to enjoy them. Probably petty, but whatever.
My primary issue with this one is I don’t know when I’m supposed to play it. In the morning? In the evening? On a long drive? It never feels in place to me. Tranquility, on the other hand, is a phenomenal night time record.
This record def hits when you're a little jet lagged riding a train across a country border, I can confirm
I think of it as a morning album primarily. it baffles me when people say they find the record boring..."Hello You" alone has more going on than some entire albums
Have you tried listening to this at high volumes in suffocating heat yet? Because I have and I highly recommend it.
