Still my AOTY. I can’t believe there was ever a time I wanted to cut tracks from this record. An absolute masterpiece.
Some of parts in this song were written by Tom Searle (RIP) of Architects. It was initially supposed to be an Architects song but he felt like it was better for STYG.
damn there's not many of these livestream shows that i'd really consider but this is an instant purchase for me
Boy. I hope this record makes a bunch of year end top 10’s. The only records that really have a chance of displacing it from my AOTY are the Killers or Turnstile, maybe TWOD if I really spin it. It’s been the soundtrack to what’s been an up and down year but improving - and I think that sound suits it well. I wish more people could hear them in the states.
I love this record but there's no chance it cracks my top 10. This year has been stacked with too many great releases.
Least surprising news, though I’m surprised about the listens I guess. Top song was Giving Blood, with Discourse and Black Lungs in the Top 10. Is it 12/11 yet?
This Saturday, the album in full for those who loved the Animals orchestral recording. Shaping up to be an absolute rocket.
Judging by his recent tweets, seems like he’s anti-Boris and anti-Tories more than anything else. Haven’t seen any posts about ivermectin
That’s what I’m thinking, echoes the conversations happening here around vaccine mandates, even from vaccinated people
he’s liking fucking zerohedge tweets, absolutely not a good look and yes, some of his likes are explicitly anti-vax as well
Watching now. "Little Wonder" is a big standout, as is "Discourse is Dead" and "Dead Butterflies." I actually prefer the other version of "Animals" they did earlier this year - this one feels a bit too busy/brassy, like they wrote two extra/unnecessary parts just to show off the orchestra.
Just watched the stream, really enjoyed it! The mix felt a little off on the guitar and drums, but that might just have been the stream compressing or my audio setup. Really hope they do a wider release of the video and audio, I'd buy this on blu-ray
hmmmm i actually didn't enjoy this as much as i thought i would. the orchestra is obviously fabulous but i think the arrangements only really hit right on a few songs. amazing that the band did this though, i love how ambitious they've become
