Been on a huge Architects kick today. One benefit of their albums not straying too far from each other sonically is you can put most of their discog on shuffle and it transitions seamlessly.
Little Wonder is a way more effective version of the catchy song, heavy breakdown thing ADTR has been trying to do for their entire lifespan. I was genuinely surprised how heavy it got on first listen. Great song.
I’m 1% concerned at how many times this 4 year old has heard the word “fucking” while learning the song lmao at least give him an edited version!!!!!!! (I can’t even fathom knowing what drums were at 4 years old let alone being able to play songs lol)
I’ve listened to this on repeat quite a bit this week while working on a long term data project for work. I’ve grown to like it more with each listen. I don’t think I’ve heard anything else by them, so I’ll have to go back and check out their discography at some point
Amazing is underselling it. Everyone should watch this right now. It's so MUCH more melodic this way. The brass! The high strings in the second half of the chorus! His live singing? GOT DAMN.
I haven’t really listened to this band since Lost Together but I decided to check this video out and it gave me chills just from the depth of sound alone
Yup gonna echo everyone else, drop literally everything you're doing and watch that video, that was incredible
His vocals sound better in this. And the instrumental guitar is more clear, even with all the orchestral instrumentation alongside it. Even the percussion hits harder. That snare tone, damn. I will echo those who said there’s no way they went to all this trouble with the studio and the orchestra for just a single track. I can’t wait to see what’s next. A whole album feels like too much to ask for. But my goodness, I will cream my jeans if it wishes to exist.
I agree, the mix here is clearer than on the album, even with all the extra instrumentation. I hope they do more songs but I especially hope they put the audio on streaming.
Hey! I had the pleasure of talking to Sam Carter this week on THE FIRST EVER PODCAST! We go deep and get heavy. Hope you enjoy!
I've watched the orchestra performance probably 50 times and it just gets better every time I hear it. Looked like Sam had lost weight or grown out his hair or both, but he looked like a proper rock star in it as well.
