Apparently they have an album essentially done, and there’s some internal “drama” with the label about it. That’s the latest I heard, anyway. Don’t know how true it is.
My wife works for Salesforce and theyve done at least 2 private quarantine concerts for them as well over the last 2 years. Live streamed.
This one was live! Arcade Fire Played Their First COVID-Era Show At A Vegas Crypto Party Also, this article reminded me that they played a new song on Colbert a year ago and we all already completely forgot about it!
“Those videos show a frankly depressing scene, with Butler and Chassagne performing in front of a barely-interested audience. While introducing “My Body Is A Cage,” Butler tells the crowed, “You know that dream that you have where you’re, like, in Las Vegas and your band’s not there and you’re about to sing, and then you turn around and there’s a bunch of people eating dinner? Yeah, it’s a fucked up dream.” good lord
I have a few friends that work there and my god Salesforce gets such insane private shows, that Dreamforce is insane haha
Yea it’s interesting. I have a buddy in Indy that worked at a smaller start up, they had booked Imagine Dragons and in the meantime the band became the biggest band on rock radio. They still came and played but he said it was surreal to watch them play this tiny corporate event in Indianapolis lol. Said they looked like they didn’t want to be there.
Kind of gross they play these type of events but guess you gotta do what ya gotta do. They’d make bank on a Funeral livestream, If a tour is not possible
They’ve started sending postcards to fans teasing new music. https://www.reddit.com/r/arcadefire..._a_postcard/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb
Nice...I am really glad theyve taken a long break out of the spotlight....I feel like they suffered from some overexposure post-The Suburbs Grammy...I enjoyed all their albums (yes, even Everything Now had some highlights) but I'm anticipating a strong return
