Yea this tour is gonna be nice in arena. I’m seeing it an amphitheater so I’m a bit more leary. Looks like some shows that weren’t in huge venues sold out and second dates were added.
Yeah I’m slightly bummed my show is an ampitheatre too. I saw Everything Now tour at both an arena and amphitheater and the former was 10x better.
Funeral -> Suburbs -> WE thematically make a really great trilogy. Basically set up as Growing Up -> Transitioning to adulthood -> Settling into family life. Feels like whenever they stray from those emotional chords is when they lose the plot. Even Neon Bible, which is a 10 out of 10 album based on its sheer volume of bangers, is thematically a little bit of a mess.
Anyone know how to get about downloading the 7 track version where Lightning and EotE aren’t needlessly split up? I keep seeing screen shots of it but no answers.
God damnit. The fact he needs a “crisis reporter” or whatever to make his statement is just a terrible sign from the start.
will be shocked if they do the right thing here. very few bands at their level have the spine but he has to go
yes if they want to continue the band in any capacity, dropkick this rapist motherfucker or they're done
Regine has doubtless been a victim here too but I am deeply sad that she appears to be standing by him (not as a partner but as someone who should go on performing publicly and having that privilege etc etc)
They have a huge headlining tour happening this fall - they probably are just going to power through it which is gross
Also makes me afraid that the whole band mighta known and he was the only one who gave a shit enough to leave
My thinking is more, they've already lost a key member quite recently and the band is built around Win and Regine as a functioning unit, so it seems likely to me they'll cut their losses and quit altogether. What's more, the peace-and-love vibe is so integral to their "thing" at this point that this might constitute a deathblow. Could be wrong. More importantly though, I'm glad those he hurt found each other and were able to come forward.
I make fun of them as much as the next person and their accountability track record as a publication is so-so but Pitchfork did good work here
