I think they just put the wrong release date in the email. The release was changed to the 22nd from the 20th fairly recently I think. But yeah this is going to be shit regardless
I just went to Cinemark’s website to look at Poor Things showtimes, and… Aquaman is out today? Nah, that can’t be right.
i'm afraid this is a pretty disjointed mess. you can actually tell when there are reshoots or whatever because it's visually drab in the first half, yet much better in the second. a lot of the fun and sense of wonder in the original is largely gone, there's like half as many funny scenes, and it never feels as big or fun as it really should. it's not terrible like some were already saying, but it is boring at times. i did like the last act for the most part. this should've been way more
oh, and i didn't wait to see if there was a post credits scene, but the mid-credits was pretty dumb/silly
not as horribly as the trailer would lead you to believe, but she's still pretty sidelined. as is nicole kidman. glorified cameos, practically
that said, this isn't good overall, but i wouldn't say it deserves vitriolic reviews or anything. fwiw, i saw this in 3D because that's what the screening was, and i'm not sure how much better or worse that made the experience
I think I'm good on skipping out on this. The first one was fun, but nothing I feel compels me to watch another one. Just let this chapter of the DCEU close and start the James Gunn era.
