Yeah, definitely using theScore as my main app right now but excited to see how this evolves.

NFL will be there in time for next NFL season according to the article.

No widget or live activities feels real weird, though. You'd figure they'd launch the app with SOMETHING

The new sports app looks like it has potential, but ive already deleted it. UK clearly isnt the taylored market just now. Wont topple free services like the BBC by only covering one league of one sport in the UK.

  11. Apple Sports: A free iPhone app to get you the score, fast

Jason Snell, writing at Six Colors:

It turns out that those scores, fed from Apple to the TV app and the Apple TV and a few select other places, are from a data source that Eddy Cue also cares about a lot. He’s been pushing it to be as close to real time as is technologically possible, right down to watching his phone and comparing it to the scoreboard at a Warriors game. And now that data source is driving Apple’s latest app, a free iPhone app called Apple Sports, which is debuting today.

“I just want to get the damn score of the game,” Cue says. “And it’s really hard to do, because it seems like it’s nobody’s core [feature].” In a sports data world increasingly driven by fantasy and betting, Apple’s not trying to build an adjunct to some other app business model. [...]

“We said, ‘We’re going to make the best scores app that you could possibly make,’” Cue said.

  12. Already has a place on my second home screen. It's only going to get better too, as a 1.0, it's the barebones of what I've wanted an app like this to be.

Mine hasn’t aged well. Not great if you have young kids getting their grimey hands on it. I don’t regret buying it and it definitely doesn’t look as bad as those initial pics when it first came out

Pretty wild but probably the right call. Hopefully some concepts see the light of day as the process would have been an interesting insight.

  22. they really should just license carplay to manufacturers. Ford has great EVs but their Sync OS is god awful.
