Yeah, this was my first time not ordering through Verizon and instead using Apple directly and it was easily the worst experience I’ve had. What I get for trying to get out of device payment plans, I guess.

 

I got through in the app but it took almost 30 mins. I got the error msg with my presave a bunch of times. Once I did get through everything went fine but it was a pain to get to that point

 

This aboslutely did not work for me this year. Total chaos... was gone/not showing at all when the site finally went live. Then I was having all sorts of issues trying to start new pre-order, finally just went to T-Mobile's site and got it through there, thankfully launch date delivery still available at the time.


Got the 15PM NT 256GB

 

yeah this was a mess this year. luckily I eventually got through and it worked but it took about a half hour and got booted from my session before it finally worked. it still said launch day delivery for me but we'll see if that holds up

 

Had my order in by 8:05 but my delivery date is the 25th. Not sure if it’s just a Canadian thing or what, but I can wait an extra 3 days

 

My delivery date is October 5-11 so yours isn't too bad.

Instore pickup in MB wasn't available either lol.

 

Can you pick and choose what you want to transfer over to the new phone yet? I kinda want to start fresh when it comes to downloading apps and I don’t want to bring my 55k+ photos over. But I don’t want to add all my contacts manually and it would be nice to keep all my browser info and tabs.

 

ordered the stupid fucking lightning to usb c adaptor so i can keep using carplay. this company has really got me by the nether region lol

 

Are we assuming a regular USB-A to USB-C cable won’t work? Or are you just thinking non OEM Will be finicky?

 

Our new car has USBC ports in it already - it also does wireless CarPlay but I don’t trust it

 

yeah i've just had terrible luck with non-apple cables, especially with carplay.

i have a 22 outback but it has strictly A ports which is sort of confusing being that new. it is one trim level above stock though so that could be why i guess?

 

Never had any problem with wireless CarPlay this end. Much prefer it to wired as you don't have to take your iPhone out at all.

 

Wireless CarPlay is annoying if you share/swap cars often like my wife and I do

 

Tempted by the Series 9 as I have a good chunk of AppStore credit, although my Series 5 still holds up very well, at least for my use cases. Although Midnight would go better with the Titanium Blue and Midnight Air.

 

I probably won't get a new watch until this one breaks.

 

anybody ever try those wireless carplay adaptor deals? I had a similar thing for the aux cord in my golf years ago that worked okay but that feels a lot simpler to accomplish than full blown carplay.

 

Wireless carplay is fine, but I hate that my car doesn't offer a wired carplay option. I don't always want my phone to connect, start media playback automatially, pull my location as I drive, and drain my battery when I'm running five minutes down the road to get an ice cream.

 

Gotcha. I had that concern as well. I'm wired CarPlay too and figured I'd try an Anker (or similar equivalent) braided A to C before getting the adapter, but I've had issues with non-OEM, too.

I have a '21 Prius Prime and know that Toyota just switched to USB-C with the '23 models, so maybe it's that way with multiple manufacturers.

 

Overslept by an hour and pickup was unavailable for what I wanted, so I’m waiting a few weeks for it to be delivered.

 

regardless that's stills super frustrating

 

First Apple event in years that I haven’t ordered a thing, I feel left out haha.

 

I feel like I see the same 1-2 devices each time I consider investing in one so idk if there are a lot of good options, but reviews seem to consistently express something along the lines of “a bit laggy, but works well.”

 

Any recs for a third party case? I ordered the new eco friendly one from Apple, but worried about the quality

 

Smartish is the best $15-20 case, i get one with every phone now and drop my phone all the time. Always holds up.

 

I got one of the Spigen Mag Armor cases for my 12 Pro and it's held up incredibly well and feels great to hold.
