It's a physical limitation of the chipset. I listened to a extensive explanation, but it boils down to there being only two display buffers on an M1/M2 chip. On a MacBook this means one for the internal monitor and one external. We're gonna have to wait for a redesign of the chipset for multi-monitor support to happen natively.

iPadOS continues to get lacklustre updates.

Some pretty nice updates on iOS and macOS though.

I can’t believe Apple is still shouting about Resident Evil Village which came out years ago. They have the power but their gaming side is still lacking. Pretty sweet to see Hideo Kojima though.

Yeah really weird to put an M series chip in it and then not make software (outside of logic which I guess is a big deal) built around it

 

I just wanted to inform the Apple thread that Death Stranding (2019) is in fact Very Good.

 

I've pretty much given up on the idea of my iPad ever being more than a content consumption device (regardless of those new "Pro" apps). I was so convinced that putting the M1 chip in the iPad was going to be a renaissance for the platform, and they've done nothing but squander the opportunity. Can't believe I picked an M1 iPad Pro over an M1 Air (when my laptop at the time was a 2013 Macbook Pro). I bought a secondhand M1 Air last year and my iPad is now only used for light web browsing and all video streaming (that display is gorgeous). Back on macOS full-time since then.

Needless to say, when I go upgrade my iPad again, I'm sticking with an Air model. The Pro model just isn't for me anymore.

 

I don't think we're getting the VR announcement...
